The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive counterpart, the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums we have tested. They are equipped with motors that are top-of-the line and can suction up to 5,500 Pascals. And, like other top iRobot models (including the top pick) they utilize intelligent mapping technology to create detailed floor plans and avoid home-based obstacles like cords and furniture legs. The robots also come with a feature called Carpet Boost that boosts its power when it detects dirt on the carpet.
The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored very well in our tests on bare floors They are also adept in removing hair from dogs. However, they do have some flaws that prevent them from being our top choice. For instance, the Q5's navigation system does not feature AI-powered obstacle avoidance technology which means it's susceptible to get caught up in socks and shoes and couldn't navigate rooms with a lot of people well in our tests. Also, it doesn't have a camera that would let it see the corners of an area.
Still, it's very good to consider, particularly if you're looking to save money on a iRobot Roomba and you have a bare-floored home or office. It's also quiet and operates while you are at work or in school. It doesn't have the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming feature that's available in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. And it's less effective at mopping, relying on disposable wet wipes that don't hold on well and aren't able to handle dried-on debris. The Q5 does have an auto-emptying dock, however. If you want to, you can swap the mopping pad to a dry one in seconds.
2. IRobot Roomba X30
The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact sleek and stylish vacuum cleaner that can also mop floors. cheap robot vacuum and smart cleaning maps make it simple to clean and efficient at taking on larger particles, such as pet hair. It also features a self-emptying bin as well as powerful suction, and support for virtual boundaries. It's the most efficient robotic hoover for carpets, but it's not as good as other hoovers in terms of deep cleaning.

It's a little more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, however it offers superior suction, a built-in dust bin that automatically emptys into its base, and it supports voice commands through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It is able to clean floors even after it vacuums. This is a feature we haven't seen on other robotic vacuum/mop combos.
3. IRobot Roomba X40
This mop and vacuum combination is sleek and has a circular design that appears more like a regular Roomba model than the bulky units of the rivals. It is one of our most attractive robot vacuums. iRobot's latest flagship model also is its most advanced and has advanced features like enhanced dirt detection technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads).
It's also the only robot vacuum/mop to score the perfect 10/10 out of 10 in our evaluations. This is due to the combination of high-tech sensors, including a structured light system, a camera, and a variety of lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could fill and empty its basestation autonomously. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa as well as self-cleaning mop mops.
Like other iRobot models like the X40 is user-friendly, offering an intuitive mobile app interface, and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit as well as Google Assistant. The only issue is that the X40 is still a loud unit. This can be a problem in mornings prior to work or in the evening when you are trying to sleep.
It's also quite expensive however, not as much as the Ecovacs S8 MaxV Ultra or Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally capable and better looking. If you're willing to live with a bit more noise and some additional cost it's a powerful two-in-one that will please almost everyone.

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the high-end robot mop and vacuum. It has a number of advanced features that will help you forget your chores. Like Ecovacs the range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-free cleaning machine that can take the care of vacuuming and mopping, with a multi-function dock that automatically empties the vacuum's trash bin, refills its water tank, and cleans and dry its mop pads.
The smart robot uses LIDAR and structured lighting to map out floor plans and spot obstacles. It navigates more intelligently than its competitors with premium features. It also comes with a front-mounted camera to detect hazards in real-time but this was not reliable in our tests and was occasionally confused by power cords or other obstructions.
Its vacuum has a suction capacity of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to get the job done. It also has an attribute called "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the power of the vacuum and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for different areas in the house depending on how dirty these areas tend to be.
For bigger homes it's recommended to choose one that has zone or spot cleaning modes that let you tell the robot to clean one particular area of your home by using the app or voice controls. A stair mode can be beneficial if you have number of furniture. For families with busy schedules, a recharge function and resume feature that permits your robot vacuum to continue from where it left off could be very beneficial.
5. iRobot Roomba RX3
The RX3 is more advanced than its price suggests. It does a stellar job vacuuming, picking up 55% of the debris that was found in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops using one pad and a rotating motion that cleans better that most of the mop cleaners with robots that we've examined. It's also highly self-sufficient, with a fully-featured app, and a self emptying, washable base.
The iRobot application is designed to guide you through an exercise in mapping that collects data on your floorplan as well as any "no go" areas you've marked on the map. You can use it to create cleaning schedules, plan the perfect spot for cleaning or prioritise your dirtiest rooms to ensure better performance. The app also gives access to a host of features, such as seasonal suggestions, custom maps and advanced settings for your cleaning.
